Build confidence by building trust in yourself.

Confidence Coaching in Bristol and Across the UK

Confidence isn’t about becoming louder, fearless or a completely different version of yourself. It’s the trust you have in yourself that you can do something, even when it feels uncomfortable, uncertain or new.

If self-doubt, comparison or fear has started to hold you back, confidence coaching can give you the space to understand what’s happening, recognise what is already working and take realistic action that helps you rebuild that trust.

I offer confidence coaching in Bristol and online across the UK.

Do you feel like your confidence has disappeared?

A drop in confidence doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve lost your ability. Sometimes life has simply changed, your comfort zone has become smaller, or you’re facing more uncertainty than you have for a while.

You might recognise yourself in some of these:

Marketing Agency Icon

You feel stuck and can’t see the wood for the trees.

Marketing Agency Icon

You compare yourself with other people and assume they’re doing things better than you.

Marketing Agency Icon

You avoid opportunities because you’re worried you won’t be good enough.

Marketing Agency Icon

You keep waiting until you feel more confident before taking action.

Marketing Agency Icon

A redundancy, promotion, career change or other life transition has knocked your confidence.

Marketing Agency Icon

You know what you want to do, but fear or self-doubt keeps getting in the way.

Marketing Agency Icon

You’ve become so used to staying within your comfort zone that even small changes now feel difficult.

You don’t need to fix all of that at once. Confidence can be rebuilt through small, realistic experiences that give you new evidence of what you’re capable of.

What is confidence coaching?

Confidence coaching is a practical and reflective process that helps you understand what is affecting your confidence and begin taking steps that feel achievable for you.

We won’t simply replace every doubtful thought with a positive one. We’ll get curious about it. What are the facts? What are the assumptions? What evidence do you already have that you can cope, learn or make progress?

From there, we can create small actions that stretch you and set you up to succeed.

Confidence coaching can support you through change?

A drop in confidence doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve lost your ability. Sometimes life has simply changed, your comfort zone has become smaller, or you’re facing more uncertainty than you have for a while.

Periods where several major changes are happening at once

The situation may be personal, professional or a mixture of both. I take a whole-person approach because the person at work is the same person at home, and changes in one area of life often affect another.

The Abigail Jane Coaching® Approach is Different

How does confidence coaching work?

Start with what is already working

I often begin by helping you notice the evidence that already exists. Rather than starting from the assumption that everything is wrong, we look at what is going well, what you have already managed and where you already feel more capable.

01.

Get curious without judgement

We explore what happened, what got in the way and what could make the next step more achievable. The aim isn’t to label an attempt a success or failure. It’s to learn from it and use that information.

02.

Set yourself up to succeed

I use scaling to test whether an action is genuinely realistic. If a plan feels like a 5 out of 10 for how likely you are to do it, we’ll look at what would make it a 7 or 8. That might mean making the action smaller, changing when you do it or finding another way forward.

03.

Build evidence through action

Talking can create insight, but confidence grows when that insight is followed by action. Each manageable step gives you more evidence that you can trust yourself to do what you said you wanted to do.

04.

What confidence coaching can look like in real life

One client had been made redundant and was struggling with rejection and silence from job applications. He was spending most of his time on LinkedIn and had stopped seeing friends, family and doing the things he enjoyed because he felt he should always be job searching.

We explored how that approach was actually working for him. He realised that constant comparison was making him feel worse and that real human connection was something that gave him energy.

He began deliberately making time for people who reminded him who he was outside the job search. That connection wasn’t a distraction from finding work. It helped him feel more like himself and gave him more confidence and energy to keep going.

Confidence often overlaps with other areas of life

Sometimes confidence is the main issue. Sometimes it is part of something bigger.

Confidence coaching with Abi

I’m Abi, a Master Accredited Executive Coach with more than 20 years’ experience and over 15,000 hours of coaching practice.

My coaching style is warm, curious and practical. I won’t tell you what you should do or push you towards a predetermined outcome. We’ll look at what is really happening, challenge assumptions with evidence and turn what you discover into actions that feel realistic for your life.

The aim isn’t for you to depend on my belief in you. It’s for you to gather enough evidence to start believing in yourself.

Confidence Coaching FAQs

What does a confidence coach do?

A confidence coach helps you explore what may be affecting your confidence, challenge assumptions and identify practical actions that can help you build greater self-trust. Coaching is collaborative, so I won’t tell you what to do. We work together to understand what feels right and realistic for you.

Can coaching help with low self-confidence?

Coaching can be useful when self-doubt, comparison, avoidance or fear is affecting the choices you make. We look at what is already working, what may be keeping you stuck and what small actions could help you create new evidence of your capability.

Do I need to feel ready or confident before I start?

No. In fact, waiting until you feel confident can keep you stuck. You can begin from where you are now and use manageable action to build confidence over time.

Is confidence coaching the same as therapy?

No. Coaching is focused on awareness, choices and moving forward. It is not a replacement for therapy or treatment for mental health conditions or trauma. If something comes up that would be better supported therapeutically, we can recognise that and discuss the appropriate next step.

Can confidence coaching help with work and career confidence?

Yes. Confidence can be affected by redundancy, returning to work, a promotion, a new role, career change or becoming a manager. Where the main focus is your career direction, Career Coaching or Midlife Career Change Coaching may also be relevant.

Do you offer confidence coaching online?

Yes. I work with clients in Bristol and also offer online confidence coaching across the UK.
